The company Adast Systems residents in Adamov near Brno in a valley with a rich iron tradition that started 2,200 years ago by a Neolithic forger in the nearby caves "Byčí skála" (Bull’s rock). The processing of iron ore continued in the 8th -9th centuries in the era of the Great Moravian Empire which is documented by the wide ranging Slavic metallurgy findings. In the 16th century, the dominion and the iron mills were transferred to the hands of the Liechtenstein’s who at the turn of the 18th and 19th century supported the construction of blast furnaces. At the end of the 19th century, the iron mill in nearby village Josefov was closed and a small metallurgical factory originated located in Adamov. In 1890, according to the project of the designer S. Markuse, the first car in the whole of Austro-Hungary was produced which can be seen today in a Vienna museum. In the early 20th century, the skills of the employees were applied to the production of locomotive parts for the Škoda plant.
The historical roots of the existing production program of the company Adast Systems date back to 1924 when the Prague company HEFA, which dealt with the construction and production of equipment for manipulation with petroleum products, was awarded international accreditation. In 1961 this production was transferred to the Adamov engineering plant, including external assembly. Immediately after this event there was done an innovation of a large part of the assortment.
In the period from the 1960´s to the 1990´s, the ADAST brand gained the dominant position in the commodity of petrol and diesel dispensers in the former COMECON market (Council for Mutual Economic Assistance). The change of economic environment after 1989 and the strong pressure from the competition caused the demand for an innovation of the assortment, particularly in terms of ecology and the use of electronics. The expansion in the industry of the building of filling stations at the beginning of the 1990´s supported the development of the form and also contributed to the development of the qualitative higher level of dispensers. In the period from 1991, our company participated in the construction and reconstruction of more than 1,900 fuel stations in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic.
The modern history of the company started in 1993 when ADAST - SYSTEMS a.s. was established as a subsidiary of the company Adamovské strojírny a.s. In 2003, a change of owners of the company brought changes to the name of the company for ADAMOV-SYSTEMS. After buying the traditional trade mark "ADAST" in September 2008, the traditional producer of fuel dispensers and other technologies for filling stations has used the company nameAdast Systems.
